A 24-year-old woman from Bulawayo has appeared before the courts for allegedly stealing clothes and perfumes worth US$258 that belonged to her employer.
Simakuhle Tshuma, who was employed as a maid, appeared Before Bulawayo magistrate Mr Golden Mahamba charged with theft as defined in Section 113 (a) of the Criminal Law and Codification Act Reform Act Chapter 9:23.
She, however, pleaded not guilty.
Prosecuting, Ms Sibusisiwe Sithole told the court that between August 21 to 23 Tshuma allegedly took Sandisiwe Moyo’s property and US$30 cash.
This came to light when Moyo told her tenant that some of her property was missing from the house.
“The tenant told her that the accused person gave her a bottle of perfume and Moyo discovered that the perfume belonged to her.
A police report was made, which led to the arrest of Tshuma and some of the property was recovered at her place of residence by Moyo.
One of the witnesses testified in the court that she saw Tshumas’s boyfriend wearing the missing clothes.
